His roots in the Lehigh Valley run deep — and his commitment to equity, craftsmanship, and community is the heartbeat of Project Probono. We Treat the Home as a System
A home is not a collection of unrelated parts.
The building envelope, HVAC equipment, duct system, insulation, ventilation, moisture, filtration and occupants all interact with one another. A change made to one part of the home can influence another.
That is why Project Probono approaches every service through building science.
As BPI Building Analyst Professionals, our responsibility is to understand the conditions before recommending the correction. The principle of do no harm matters to us. Improvements should support comfort, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, durability and the healthfulness of the indoor environment—not create unintended consequences elsewhere in the building.
Testing Gives the Home a Voice
Blower-door testing, duct-leakage testing, pressure diagnostics, airflow measurements, infrared imaging and other performance tools allow us to move beyond assumptions.
They help determine:
• Where conditioned air is being lost
• Where outside or interstitial air is entering
•How the HVAC system interacts with the home
• Whether pressure differences are contributing to comfort or air-quality concerns
• Whether insulation and air barriers are performing as intended
• Whether corrective work produced a measurable improvement
Testing is not performed simply to produce numbers. It provides the information needed to make better decisions.
The Right Measure for the Right Home
Not every home requires the same service.
One home may benefit from duct cleaning. Another may require duct sealing. Another may need pressure-boundary corrections, insulation, ventilation improvements, filtration changes or a combination of measures.
Our services can stand alone or work together when the findings support it.
Our goal is not to sell every available measure.
The goal is to understand the home well enough to identify what actually matters.
Performance Should Be Measurable
Whenever work is intended to change the performance of the building, measurable and certifiable testing provides accountability.
It allows improvements to be documented rather than assumed.
